Grants, Fellowships and ResidenciesGrants, fellowships and residencies are listed close to each other or under the same heading in an artist's resume. This is why they are in the same section here :) Grants... hmmm... well, for those of us in the USA the situation kinda how would I say it... sucks. There is no federal support for the individual artists, so we have to look for state, county, city grants where they are available. New York and Minnesota are two states where grants for the arts are reasonably plentiful, the other 48 states have considerably less support for their artists. There is a little bit of support from the ngo sector, so here's a listing of a few foundations that provide financial support for the art folks. If anyone has a better definition pls pitch in. Some you pay money to, some pay you, there are all sorts of setups. There are tons of different residency centers that sprang up all over the world in the recent years, so it's reasonably easy to find a few that are exactly up your alley and apply! Here's a listing of various residency programs and resources for finding them in USA and around the world. Direct Feed Link: http://del.icio.us/superDog7/residency |
